Logline: With both her husband and her lover serving on the same police force, Detective Varianne Grey’s precarious balance in her life slips beyond her control as one becomes suspect in her current homicide investigation.

Synopsis: After getting promoted to detective over her husband and taking her new partner Detective Cade as a lover, Varianne Grey thought she was finally pulling the threads of her life back together. But when the serial killer they’re hunting murders Cade's wife, Sara, everything falls apart. While Cade spirals into a maddened depression and obsession, Varianne is left to hunt down the killer on her own. When her recently reconciled and newly promoted husband Schaefer is assigned a new string of murders to investigate, Varianne convinces Cade to return to the force to train Schaefer as he did her, in exchange for access to his wife’s murder case. But soon husband and lover are at each other's throats. With her personal life in limbo, Varianne delves deeper into the hunt. She soon discovers the two killers they're hunting are actually one in the same. A murderer altering his M.O. as he copes with AIDS, which he contracted from a woman he had brutally raped. But while they are closing in on their murderer, the facts soon indicate perhaps Sara's death wasn't committed by the serial killer they're after. When facts come to light that Cade was directly responsible for Schaefer being held back in the department, Varianne quickly discovers Schaefer has been misdirecting her investigation and withholding evidence at every turn. As the web of deceit grows, Varianne comes to believe her husband is the very man they’ve all been searching for.
